Safetynet, Inc. develops security, virus protection and network
management products for DOS, Windows and OS/2 PCs. We focus on providing
powerful, low-overhead solutions that can be implemented by non-technical
users. Safetynet products are available in single unit, site license and
volume purchase agreements, and are listed on the GSA Schedule.
Security Products
- StopLight(R) - PC Security System
- Security, menu, and computer virus concerns are addressed by StopLight,
a DOS and Windows software security system. StopLight is suitable for protecting
PCs and laptops and requires a valid name and password to gain access to
the hard disk. Trustee assignments provide protection for sensitive drives,
files and directories. StopLight can prevent software piracy and can allow
only authorized programs to run. Its keyboard lock protects against prying
eyes, and its secure audit trail reports program usage, data access, and
violation attempts. Adjustable user security features include config.sys
and autoexec.bat protection, data encryption, DOS Shell and Ctrl-C disable,
printer and floppy drive access control, password management, and secure
diskettes that are unreadable outside the organization. The security monitor
requires only 13K of conventional memory.
- StopLight(R) ELS - Entry Level Security for PCs and Laptops
- The entry level version of StopLight is ideal for securing laptops
and stand-alone PCs. It protects the hard disk from unauthorized access
and has a keyboard lock and screen saver. Its audit trail tracks program
and file activity. Each user on the system can have separate security profiles.
Its PC Checkup program provides detailed system information, and can revive
hard disks that fail because of boot track viruses and disk corruption.
StopLight ELS requires only 13K of conventional memory.
- StopLight(R) LAN - Network Security System
- StopLight LAN provides centrally installed and controlled security
for network workstations. Protection is available on bootup or network login,
securing PCs and diskless workstations. Workstation security is managed
from the server by an elegant Windows security console. Full drag and drop
capability, along with pop-up menus make security management effortless.
On the workstation, StopLight LAN provides hard disk access control, pass-thru
login, keyboard lock/screen saver and secure files, directories, floppy
drives, and I/O ports. Support is provided for Windows for Workgroups 32-bit
Disk and File access. StopLight LAN uses 13K of total memory overhead. All
networks are supported, with added functionality included for Novell Netware
and NetBIOS-based networks such as IBM LAN Server and NT Advanced Server.
- StopLight(R) for OS/2 - OS/2 Security with File-Level Protection
- StopLight for OS/2 provides maximum security for OS/2 computers. Boot
protection prevents unauthorized access to the hard disk. Multiple users,
each with custom security profiles provide unlimited flexibility. File,
directory and drive level access restrictions, including Read, Write, Create
and Delete control, protect sensitive data. Security features are available
for PM, OS/2 command-line, OS/2 DOS, Win-OS/2 and dual boot DOS configurations,
providing unsurpassed protection. Audit trail, keyboard lock, data encryption
and secure floppy drives, serial and parallel ports are also included.
Anti-Virus Products
- VirusNet(tm)
- VirusNet provides virus protection and disaster recovery for PCs.
Its Windows or DOS versions protects against existing and unknown viruses
(including Word macro viruses) by dual signature, checksum and heuristic
scanning. An exclusion list eliminates false alarms associated with checksum
scanning. The Rescue feature protects against CMOS and hard disk corruption.
Rescue information for workstations and standalone PCs is stored in a central
database located on diskette or on the file server. Scheduled scans and
automatic workstation updates are provided. A 3K TSR prevents infected programs
from being run or copied, and checks floppy disks when they are accessed.
Supported platforms include DOS, Windows, Windows NT and OS/2 computers.
- VirusNet(tm) LAN
- VirusNet LAN combines the virus protection of VirusNet with the powerful
central managment found in our LAN Scheduler and Distribution system. The
result is fully automatic virus protection for several or hundreds of workstations.
Just tell VirusNet LAN which files to maintain, how the virus monitor should
be configured, and when scans should occur, and its LANAGENT program will
install and configure each workstation automatically. When updated scanner
files are copied to the LAN, they will be automatically distributed to each
workstation. Known and unknown viruses, including Word macro viruses are
detected. Network support is included for IBM LAN Server, Novell Netware,
Banyan Vines as well as other popular networks.
